Beaches
Within less than one hours drive from Llanberis are some of the
finest beaches in the UK.
On Anglesey there are many choices. Benllech has some facilities
for young children in the high summer, Rhosneigr used to attract
windsurfers, Treaddur Bay is popular and astarting point for some
sea level traverses, Aberfraw is Pete's personal favourite, Newborough
is a long sand beach out to a headland with the option of walking
back through pine forests.

The Lleyn Peninsula has many fine beaches some of which offer
good surfing and sea kayaking potential. Black Rock Sands near
Portmadog is a long sandy beach and also permits access by car.
Further south is another of Pete's favourite's - Harlech beach.
Try this - first check the beach is clear of all debris, close
your eyes and see how far and fast you can run, you know it is
safe, soft sand means you are veering into the dunes, wet feet
mean the sea. Better experienced when by yourself!
