Sandy beach bordered by rocks. Car park available. Not recommended!!
Traeth Y Gribin SH285815
Long strech of sand running into Beddmanarch Bay Nature Reserve (SH 275807) Car park ands tearooms in summer. Haven't vistited the nature reserve or the Penrhos Coastal Park - let me know what you think.
Porth Penrhyn-Mawr SH287837
Small sandy bay with nearby caravan site. Overlooking Holyhead harbour so the water is probably not the cleanest. Not recommended except as a start for the coastal path heading north. Limited parking.
Porth Trefadog SH291861
Small bay surrounded by rocks, mainly shingle but some sand. Holyhead harbour can be seen in the distance and there are warnings of swell when the ferries are passing. The beaches on the north are a bit steeper than those on the south west. There is some parking and a good starting point for the coastal path heading north.
Porth Trwyn SH296878
Small cove with shingle beach and some verge parking. A bit away from the caravan parks to the south. On a good stretch of the coastal path.
Porth Swtan or Church Bay SH301893
Small beach, car park and toilets available. Mainly shingle at high tide with sand appearing as the tide retreats. Small cliffs of pretty but loosish rock. Choughs are common in this area and the coastal path is great in both directions. Church Bay Inn is about a kilometre away.
Cemlyn Bay SH331936
A long shingle bank forms a large scenic bay. Behind the bank is a lagoon where common, artic and sandwich terns breed in the summer. Many other birds can sometimes be seen here at other times of the year. Large carpark. A pretty short walk out to the point on the left or the coastal walk is good in both directions. I like it here in both summer and winter.
The walk to the west and Carmel Head is good.
Good launch point for sea kayaking - BUT only for advanced paddlers.
Cemaes Bay SH374937
Small bay bordered by rocks. Car park and toilets nearby. Behind the beach is the village of Caemes.
Porth Wen SH405944
Small shingle beach, with sand appearing as the tide recedes, bordered by cliffs. Limited verge parking. Its an unlikely site for the abandoned brick works to the west of the bay. From the coastal path here (and all along the north coast)porpoise, dolphins and seals are regularly seen - you may be lucky.
Bull Bay SH434936
Small shingle beach bordered by crags and caves. Car park. Small village behind beach. Can pick up coastal path here.
Portrhyrchen SH469932
Small rocky beach surrounded by cliffs. Car park available.

Porthygwichiad SH489914
Short stony beach surrounded by cliffs, running into Porth Helygen.
Traeth Dulas SH482884
Large expanse of sand which is tidal. Best reached from llaneuddog on the A5025. Not a beach or a spot for swimming but a tranquil place with a good chance of seeing some waterfowl. Two boats have been left high and dry in the bay. Parking is on rough ground. Probably more interesting at low to mid tide.
Traeth Yr Ora SH491886
Sandy beach with small peninsula.
Traeth Bychan SH516847
Small sandy beach, car park and large caravan site very close. Nearby toilets.
Benllech Sand SH526825
Long stretch of sand, car park available. Sometimes a play area for small children on the beach in the summer. Shops and cafes on road bordering the beach. Popular with families in summer. At low tide you can walk around to Red Wharf Bay.
Traeth-coch or Red Warf Bay SH532805
Massive area of sand, car park, caravan and camp site. Inns in the small Red Wharf village. Odd large squat limestone pillar on the path over to Benllech. Veware the bay is tidal so don't wander out on the sand at low water!
Penmon SH632803
Small beach of shingle. Some rocks jutting out to sea and justifiably a popular place. Also not bad for fishing from the rocks or beach here and further west. Some carparking. Views of Puffin Island. Wild orchids can be spotted in the Spring away from the beach.
At Penmon itself there are several Medieval items of interest - Penmon Priory (13c), St. Seriol's Well, Penmon Dovecote (c.1600) and the 10c decorated Penmon pillar cross - all approximately at SH630808.
Porth Tywyn-mawr SH288851
Largish beach which is sandier on the left and sand/shingle to the right. Large caravan park close by (with shop open to public). Limited parking but away from Holyhead harbour. Start of good section of coast path heading north from here.
Traeth Lligwy SH494885
Big sandy beach. Lots of carparking but large caravan parks. Another favourite. The short section of the Anglesey coastal path to Moelfre is one of the most popular sections.
Good surf in E winds, be careful with W winds and danger from off shore breezes.
Moelfre SH863513
Small shingle bay in the village of Moelfre with small carpark and cafe next to the beach. The short walk to Traeth Lligwy (north west) is beautiful and you may be lucky enough to see either seals, porpoise or dolphins.
Llanbadrig Beach SH375945
Steep shingle beach under small cliffs with several small bays and a small sea stack! No parking here but some at the nearby church which was established in the fifth century. On the road to here you will pass a small vineyard!!
Beaumaris SH605755
Pebbles with some mud - not for swimming but okay for watching the boats and gulls. Parking and all facilities in Beaumaris.
Fryars Road SH615777
The north beach running from Beaumaris, Mainly pebbles with a little sand, seaweed and rocks. Not for swimming but possibly okay for looking under rocks etc.
Redw Fawr SH607819
Two small pebbly and shingle coves - not the best option for swimming but seems popular with fishermen. Limited carparking.
Bwrdd Arthur SH582820
Situated below Bwrdd Arthur about 1.5 km east of Red Wharf Bay. From above it looks like a beautiful shingle cove but parking was limited and access not that obvious. Please let me have more details if you know this beach.
