Adventure Sports Information Centre
As part of our exciting expansion programme we have opened this facility early in 2002. This is based in the front two rooms on the first floor above the café and we hope that we are now able to provide this as a free service for the foreseeable future.
Initially we have provided two large tables and chairs as well as several more comfortable arm chairs. Over the last two years we have built a collection of over 400 maps of both the UK and the world's mountain regions for reference. These maps have all been laminated courtesy of Plas Y Brenin and are stored in purpose built cabinets for easy access. We bought 100 maps ourselves the rest are donations from our customers. If you would like to add to our collection we would welcome more foreign maps and we will arrange to get them laminated - Many thanks.
There are also three computers where customers can access the internet for a small fee. We also plan to build up a collection of digital photographs of interesting local activities which will be accessible from the centre's computers.
Over time we will be sensitive to the needs and wishes of our customers and hope the centre will develop into a useful resource for everyone.
