Welcome to Pete's Eats website. For many years Pete's in Llanberis, North Wales has been serving the best chip butties around along with pint mugs of tea. At the same time the café has been a mecca for climbers and outdoor enthusiasts to meet and share ideas and information about their sports. Pete's was the place where new routes were entered into a book for
future climbers.

This website is an extension of that concept.

Here you will find information for anyone visiting or living in North Snowdonia and hopefully, people like yourself, will be able to contribute new information on the many exciting activities that you take part in.

We now have a book exchange, mainly paperback novels but also other books. People who take a book are asked to donate £1 to the Llanberis Mountain Rescue team – in the collection box here. If you wish to recycle your books please leave them next time you call in.

We hope to change the small photos on display in the café after the summer so contributions will be welcome. Either leave prints at the café or email them to

We still want to extend our map collection. We originally bought over 100 maps and have since been donated over 300 making a total of over 400. These have been laminated and stored for easy access in map cabinets. We now have a good selection of UK maps especially for all the mountain areas, but wish to extend our foreign maps. You can check which ones we already have under the resources section on the website. The condition of the maps is not really important as lamination stabilises them and any writing etc only makes them more interesting. They are kept here as a free reference service for everyone.
